Abstract: 38CrMoAl steel was austenitized by heating to 1000-1200 ℃ for 0-300 s by different process configurations. The effect of austenitizing temperature and holding time on the austenite grain growth behavior was studied. The results show that the average grain size of austenite in the tested steel increases with the increase of austenitizing temperature, and the grain growth rate increases with the increase of temperature. At the same austenitizing temperature, the average grain size of austenite increases with the increase of holding time, and the grain growth rate decreases with the increase of holding time. According to the test data of austenite grain size of the tested steel, the Sellars model of the austenite grain size and austenitizing temperature and holding time of the 38CrMoAl steel was established, and the accuracy of the model was verified.
