Abstract: Orientation evolution of ferrite rerstallized grains in IF steel from cold rolling to annealing was studied by means of EBSD.The results show that from the cold rolling to the annealing process, the ferrite grain orientation evolves toward the[111] grain parallel to the normal direction, while the[100] grain parallel to the normal direction gradually disappears;the crystal orientation of ferrite grains determines the difficulty of slip deformation during the cold rolling deformation process.Compared with[100] grains,[111] grains are more prone to slip deformation and resulting to the accumulation of a large number of dislocations inside the grains and a large amount of stored strain energy.During the subsequent annealing process, the higher strain energy[111] grains preferentially nucleate and grow for preferential recrytallization, while the recrstallization of [ 100 ] grains with lower strain energy is hindered. As the annealing temperature increases, the γ texture ([111]//ND) is significantly enhanced, especially its texture component (111)[112].
