Abstract: As-cast microstructure of the GH4169 alloy and effects of homogenization treatment on grain size, precipitated phases, oxidized layer thickness and solute element uniformity were studied by means of CLSM, OM and SEM. The results show that in the as-cast microstructure, the precipitated phases of Laves phase, δ, γ′ and MC type carbide exist between dendrites, and the segregation of main segregating element Nb is the most serious in central part of the ingot. The two-stage homogenization treatment of 1160 ℃×16 h and 1190 ℃×30 h can achieve the most suitable uniformity of solute elements in the alloy ingot, and after which, the residual segregation coefficient of Nb element is about 0.2, the average grain size is about 6117 μm and the oxidized layer thickness is about 41.6 μm.
