Abstract: Effect of aging treatment after solid solution at 540 ℃ for 2 h and water quenching on the properties of Al-Mg-4.5Si-4.5Zn alloy was studied. The results show that with the increasing of aging temperature and aging time, the hardness of the alloy increases first and then decreases, and reaches the maximum value of 135.1 HBW when aging at 190 ℃ for 2 h.The tensile strength of the alloy increases first and then decreases with extending of aging time, and reaches the maximum value of 390.12 MPa when aging at 190 ℃ for 3 h. Based on the comprehensive properties, the optimal aging process for Al-Mg-4.5Si-4.5Zn alloy is aging at 190 ℃ for 3 h.
